Toxic Chemicals Dumped at Pinjar

09-Jun-2012

Amongst other rubbish dumped recently at Pinjar was six drums of toxic chemicals.  Initial testing by DEC indicated that the gas emanating from one of the drums was highly volatile and potentially flammable (see news article).

DEC has confirmed that the drums will be removed as soon as possible, but meanwhile riders are urged to stay away from them (they are just to the side of Orchid Rd) and ensure that children stay well away.

Any visitor to the area that has any information about how they came to be there should call the Pollution Watch Hotline on 1300 784 782.
