Pinjar Trails Now Open

25-Dec-2010

The new 'Family' Trail and 'PeeWee' Trail at Pinjar are now open for riding.

This week DEC finished off the initial works on both trails which have been surfaced with limestone for durability and to create a more satisfying experience (than sand) for novices and younger riders on small wheeled bikes.

Both trails are on the eastern side of Orchid Rd.  The 6km Family Trail is open to all riders, while the 1km PeeWee trail is designed for the youngest riders on the smallest bikes.  There is still some work to be done on this trail but we would welcome feedback from riders and their parents.

These are trails, not race tracks, so please ride accordingly.  While they are intended to be one-way, please be aware that this can't be guaranteed so keep a watch for oncoming traffic.

The two new tracks represent a major step forward in the development and management of Off Road Vehicle Areas and one that we hope will lead to more and better trails being developed in the future.
