New State Trails Strategy to Include Motorised Trails

24-Oct-2007

For the first time, trail bikes are being considered in a new State Trails Strategy being commissioned by the Department of Sport and Recreation, Department of Environment and Conservation and WA Planning Commission.

Historically, these Trails Master Plans have only included walking, cycling and horse riding, so the recognition of the importance of planning for trail bike riders is a most significant breakthrough - and a dramatic illustration of the value in presenting a united and strong voice to government.

The State Trail Bike Strategy will provide input into rider requirements into the broader Trails Strategy so we can be assured that the interests of trail bike riders will be well represented.
