New Lancelin Signage "A Step in the Right Direction"

28-Jan-2008

New warning signage has been installed at Lancelin. The signs highlight the dangers of 'razorback' dunes and alert riders to the potential for encountering oncoming traffic and pedestrians in the area.

The sign concepts were developed by Trail Bike Management Australia and the RTRA with input from the Department of Environment and Conservation.

RTRA's position is that this is a good and necessary first step, but more work needs to be done to ensure that bike and quad riders at Lancelin - particularly first-timers - are properly informed of the specific risks of the area.

We will continue to try to engage the Gingin Council in constructive dialogue for the benefit of all involved.
