FPC Commences Gnangara Operations

The Forest Products Commission has advised that harvesting operations have now commenced in the Gnangara ORV Area.

Areas where harvesting is occurring will be declared off-limits and will be clearly signposted.  Other areas of Gnangara will remain open during the harvesting.

During operations planned for 2010, heavy vehicle traffic will be using the following roads:

* Trainor Road – from Robertson Road to Centre Way
* Manuel Road – from Trainor Road to Gironde Road
* Gironde Road – from Manuel Road to Centre Way
* Centre Way – from Trainor Road to Gironde Road
* Robertson Road – from Trainor Road to Lindley Road
* Lindley Road – heading West along Robertson Road to private property entrance west of Dollar Road.

The area to be harvested and haulage routes are shown on the following map.

Riders are advised that areas marked as off-limits become declared work site areas and anyone entering the areas - even on weekends - could be prosecuted.

The harvesting operation is expected to take six to eight weeks to complete.
