Blackwood at Risk

01-Nov-2010

Opposition to trail bikes in the Blackwood Valley is mounting and DEC is responding to heat from residents and eco-tourism operators.

An information flyer is being distributed by Shire and DEC rangers advising riders that they can only ride on established roads.

If DEC were to fully enforce this it would mean an end to some of the best single-trail riding in the State. RTRA will be meeting with DEC to discuss what can be done to reach a compromise position that addresses some of the concerns of non-riders without shutting out riders from areas that have been used for many years.
